Full Job Description

To play a key role in developing and maintaining high standards of care for women with mental health problems in pregnancy and the postnatal period, and their families.

To provide a high level of clinical expertise, leadership and management in the maternity department, and community as required.

Be responsible for providing specialist support and care to pregnant women with more severe mental health problems, in partnership with their own midwife and the specialist perinatal mental health team.

Work closely with women and their families to plan and coordinate their care based on their individual needs.

Participate in the on-call rota as required in the provision of the 24 hour service.

We are looking for an adaptable individual who has excellent interpersonal skills, works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team and has the ability to work under pressure, whilst moving the service forward. Applicants should be able to demonstrate previous knowledge and experience in the provision of community midwifery care, leadership, service development and staff management skills. This role will include split clinical and management time., We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons., Please be aware that this post requires an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with barred lists, the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate. If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.
