Full Job Description

The WH Scott Group are seeking to hire a People Specialist to join our team in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a HR professional who is passionate about people, compliance, and employee well-being in a rapidly growing business.
The role of the People Specialist in the UK division is to guide and support the Management team in each of the business units across the UK, to ensure the smooth running of the company from a people perspective.
This role covers several locations in the UK (London, Plymouth, Bristol, Southampton, Yeovil, Leicester).
This position can be based in any of the following locations: London, Plymouth, Bristol or Belfast. Travel to site will be required occasionally.
This role will report to the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO)
Responsibilities:
HR Operations
· Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to retention and exit processes.
· Liaising with the Talent Acquisition Specialist on UK recruitment, from business case approval to preparation of contracts, this will also include liaising with the Hiring Manager to ensure all job specs are up to date
· Managing talent pools and succession plans in liaison with the Training Manager and the Talent Acquisition Specialist
· Carrying out new employee inductions
· Roll out employee workshops across the group in both the UK & ROI on topics that will enhance the employee experience and empower employees
· Provide ongoing support to the Management Team on performance management, annual reviews, policy implementation and any other topics they may need support on
· Partnering with senior operational staff including the CHRO, to establish and roll-out people-related strategy
· Support employees who are exiting the business and assist Management with the exit process ensuring an exit interview is carried out by their Manager or HR
Employee Relations
· Provide guidance and support to the Management team on employment relations issues such as disciplinaries, grievances and employee welfare on a day to day basis across the UK
Administration
· Administration of employee-related paperwork, such as employment contracts, new starter packs, and the maintenance of the HR System (currently Bright HR), ensuring all leave records are kept up to date
· Monthly payroll administration
Policy & Procedure Implementation
· Ensuring all company policies and procedures are in line with UK legislation and best practise, and are followed consistently across each of the UK business units
· Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with the WH Scott Group goals and objectives set by the Senior Management Team
Training & Development
· Work closely with the Training department to oversee training and development of all UK employees
Staff Well-being & Engagement
· Promote staff welfare initiatives, recognition schemes, and HR-led activities
· Develop and implement employee retention and employee engagement programmes
· Work with the CHRO to carry out employee surveys
· Absence Management - Support the Management Team with absence management in their area including occupational health, and wellbeing referrals
HR Audits & Reporting
· Conduct internal audits
· Providing monthly detailed HR reports for UK divisions
Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the CHRO or the CEO of the WH Scott Group

· Minimum CIPD Level 5 or equivalent Business degree
· 3-5 years' experience in a similar HR function ideally within the lifting industry and some exposure to a multi site environment
· Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices is essential for this role
· HR system experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
· Ability to handle sensitive matters professionally and confidentially
· Highly organised with strong attention to detail

· Permanent, full-time role (39 hour working week)
