People Development Manager

We are looking for a People Development Manager specialising in Learning and Development or Talent Development join the team on a 12 month fixed-term contract. As People Development Manager, you will play a key role in defining and delivering talent development initiatives for some of our legal teams (Partners, Lawyers and legal professionals) You will consult with stakeholders to understand business priorities, conduct development needs analysis, identify capability gaps and design interventions that support development in the flow of work as well as learning events and programmes. You will translate strategic priorities into practical, high-impact talent development solutions that help our people perform at their best, progress their careers and deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients. You will manage and develop team members, enabling their high performance and supporting them in delivering against the goals of the People Development team. The role will include delivery of virtual and in person learning, in all three of our UK offices. Based out of Bristol, you can perform this role on a part time or full time basis. We are a supportive team and you will become an integral part of the People Development function, benefitting from 1:1 management and support, exposure to the full UK business as well as work that both stretches and develops you. What you'll do As People Development Manager you will:

• Be the People Development expert for designated Practice Groups; partnering with HR Business Partners and Operations Directors to identify and address talent development needs for individuals and teams
• Be a programme lead for some of Osborne Clarke's core development programmes
• Work with the Head of People Development, the Senior PD Manager and the PD Managers to support the delivery of core People Development projects
• Design and facilitate in person and virtual learning
• Line manage a People Development Advisor in the team
• Contribute to HR priority projects, which align with our people priorities and the OC 2030 strategy; working with colleagues from across the HR team
• Lead on designated People Development processes e.g. Coaching or mentoring
• Support the on-going professional development of colleagues in the People Development team
  
  This role will involve learning needs analysis and facilitation from the outset and so we are looking for someone with established talent development or learning and development skills. You will have experience of building credibility and rapport with stakeholders at all levels and a track record of developing productive working relationships.
We are looking for someone who has confidence in their communication and an ability to think creatively about defining development needs and delivering talent development and learning interventions. We are looking for different perspectives and new ideas, delivering constructive challenge with respect, in order to challenge thinking and encourage innovation. The ability to influence change and implement new learning methods is what will set you apart in this role.
