University College London (UCL) is seeking an exceptional Business Manager to join our People & Culture Division in a highly visible and influential role supporting the Chief People Officer, Deputy Chief People Officer, and Pro Provost (Equity & Inclusion). This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of strategic decision-making within a world-renowned institution, helping drive initiatives that shape the experience of thousands of staff and students. As a trusted adviser, coordinator and business management professional, you will ensure our senior leaders are equipped with the information, governance, insight and support they need to focus on delivering UCL's ambitious people and inclusion agenda
- This is an internal recruitment advert, available to eligible UCL workers only About the role Reporting to the Director of Operations and Planning, you will become a key member of the leadership support infrastructure within People & Culture. You will operate at a strategic level, managing priorities, coordinating critical initiatives, preparing high-quality briefings and papers, and helping ensure effective governance and operational excellence across the division. This role offers significant breadth and variety, combining executive support, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, governance, risk management and operational leadership. What you'll be doing
- Acting as a key business partner to senior leaders, providing strategic coordination and support.
- Preparing executive briefings, reports, presentations and communications.
- Coordinating leadership meetings, forums and governance activities.
- Managing and tracking progress against strategic priorities and action plans.
- Building strong relationships across faculties, professional services teams and external stakeholders.
- Supporting key Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and activities.
- Maintaining divisional risk management processes and supporting compliance responsibilities.
- Coordinating budget monitoring and financial reporting activities.
- Supporting senior recruitment activities, induction programmes and staff engagement initiatives.
- Leading and contributing to projects that improve operational effectiveness and organisational performance
We're looking for a highly organised, politically astute and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with senior stakeholders. You'll bring: Experience providing high-level support to senior leaders within a complex organisation. A proven ability to coordinate multiple priorities and manage competing demands. Experience leading projects and collaborating across diverse stakeholder groups. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive matters. Experience supporting budget monitoring, financial coordination or resource planning.
