Full Job Description
Ready to make a real impact at the heart of the business? We're looking for a proactive, people-focused People Advisor to deliver high-quality, practical support to managers and colleagues across the Hendy Group. This is a great opportunity to deepen your HR expertise in a fast-paced, progressive organisation where people truly matter. The Opportunity: As a People Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring people processes are applied consistently, legally and in line with Hendy values. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while building strong HR capability in a large, complex organisation. You'll gain broad exposure to employee relations, HR operations and stakeholder coaching, working closely with experienced People Business Partners and the People Hub (People Admin & Payroll). You'll be fully supported with learning, development and hands-on experience that will strengthen your long-term HR career - with potential future opportunities across the Group where available. You'll make an impact by:
- Managing day-to-day employee relations cases (absence, conduct, performance and probation)
- Giving clear, pragmatic, policy-led advice that enables confident manager decision-making
- Supporting investigations through meeting coordination, note-taking and documentation
- Acting as the first point of contact for people queries within your client group
- Coaching managers to build confidence in people processes and best practice
- Delivering core HR operations including onboarding, probation outcomes and leavers
- Maintaining accurate, auditable people data across systems and files
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and Group standards
- Working closely with the People Administration & Payroll team to deliver a positive employee experience
- Contributing to People projects and continuous improvement initiatives
You're an organised, resilient HR professional who enjoys balancing operational delivery with relationship-building. You thrive in a changing environment, handle sensitive matters with discretion, and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality people support. You'll ideally have: - Experience in an HR Advisor, HR Senior Administrator or HR Support role (essential)
- Confidence managing ER cases independently with sound judgement
- Strong organisation, communication and prioritisation skills
- A customer-focused approach with managers and colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset
- Emotional resilience and calmness under pressure
- A clear desire to build a long-term HR career
- Basic understanding of UK employment law (desirable)
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards (desirable)
- Experience using HR information systems (desirable)
