Full Job Description

Are you looking to build your experience in NHS Pension administration while helping to deliver an accurate, reliable and friendly service for NHS employees? We have two opportunities within our NHS SBS Pensions function - one in the Data Cleansing Team and one in the Calculations Team. You'll join a supportive group that cares about accuracy, teamwork and doing the right thing for our members. The work is varied, detailed and genuinely meaningful, and you'll be part of a friendly and flexible team that helps ensure NHS colleagues receive the correct benefits at the right time. This role is hybrid - you will need to attend the Southampton office once per month for team collaboration, training or meetings. What you'll be doing:

  • Processing NHS Pension information accurately and on time in line with scheme regulations.
  • Updating pension records and providing documentation through Pensions Online where appropriate.
  • Calculating periods of pensionable pay and completing refund and retirement calculations.
  • Responding professionally to internal and external enquiries by phone or email.
  • Supporting data cleansing, data processing and associated project work.
  • Meeting service level agreements and KPIs through accurate and timely administration.
  • What you'll bring:
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures.
  • Experience working in a structured or process-driven environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload.
  • Confidence handling confidential personal information.
  • It would be great if you had:
  • Enjoyment of working with numbers.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to navigate and understand different systems.
  • Experience managing a high volume of cases.
  • Ability to follow structured processes.
  • Experience in pensions, payroll or similar data-heavy environments.
  • If you're interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!
