We will support you in your development by providing you with relevant training on an ongoing basis. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to study towards obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision - a nationally recognised qualification for retirement benefit professionals administered by the, The Pensions Shared Service, based in Wandsworth, runs the administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for five London boroughs: Camden, Merton, Richmond, Waltham Forest and Wandsworth.
- Do you have strong numerical skills and work well as part of a team?
- Are you interested in starting a career working in pensions? If you have answered "yes" to these questions, then the Pensions Shared Service would love to hear from you. No previous experience of pensions administration is needed - if you meet the essential criteria in the job profile including English language and mathematics skills - we will invite you for an online assessment test,
- Knowledge and high capability of using the Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word and Excel)
- Proven ability to undertake detailed mathematical calculations accurately. Please note, the interview process includes a numerical assessment.
- An understanding of the Council's equal opportunities policy in respect of service delivery and an awareness of the needs of differing cultural and minority groups.
- Talk confidently to members and be able to explain complex rules or processes in a clear and appropriate way.
- Organise and priorities own workload
- Recognises when a procedure or policy is not working as effectively as it could and make suggestions as to how it could be improved.
