To support our continued growth, we're looking for a detail-driven and proactive Pension & Payroll Specialist to join our collaborative HR Shared Services team. In this key role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring the smooth administration of our pension schemes and supporting accurate payroll delivery across the business.   • Administer company pension schemes, including auto-enrolment, opt-outs, leavers, re-enrolment cycles and contribution changes.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of LGPS schemes, including new starters, leavers, transfers, and TUPE in/out processes.
  • Ensure payroll and pension compliance with HMRC regulations, The Pensions Regulator, PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments.
  • Provide accurate monthly pension contributions processing and reconciliation, ensuring alignment with payroll outputs.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external pension providers, LGPS administrators and internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, managers).
  • Respond to employee pension and pay queries, delivering clear, timely and professional customer service.
  • Prepare and deliver pension-related reports, data submissions and audit information as required.

    Proven experience in pension administration, including auto-enrolment, re-enrolment cycles and working knowledge of LGPS schemes.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory deductions and HMRC compliance.
  • Skilled in using payroll systems and HRIS platforms, with the ability to ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data.
  • High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to reconcile complex data and support audit requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to support employees, liaise with pension providers and collaborate with HR and Finance
