Full Job Description
We are seeking a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to lead PPHS in line with the national specification, overseeing governance and working closely with Maternity teams.
This role leads the operational delivery of pelvic health physiotherapy service and care through the life-course of all women. Candidates should hold or be working towards the Advanced Practice digital badge, or have relevant leadership experience.
Applicants who do not hold the ACP digital badge will be encouraged to apply for the Eportfolio (supported route) to attain this within role.
This permanent role, involves working across Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole and will be expected to visit Dorchester within their remit., To clinically lead in providing Perinatal Pelvic Health Services across Dorset Maternity and Neonatal Clinical System (LMNS).
Contribute to the specialist training to maternity and physiotherapy staff and have responsibility to:
Clinically lead on Perinatal Pelvic Health (PPH) Services across Physiotherapy and Maternity departments for Dorset LMNS
Maintain a specialised PPH quality screening and diagnostic service for all patients throughout their pregnancy journey and develop the adoption of the validated PPHSAQ
Have an awareness of current NHS E maternity focussed ambitions (eg NHS improving postnatal care toolkit NHS England » Improving postnatal care: a toolkit for integrated care boards, partners and providers) and engage through the system to uphold the input of the PPHS as aligned with the PPHS service specification.
Take a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, many being of a complex presentation.
Support excellent referral management, assessment and management of physical changes during the perinatal timeframe.
Organise appropriate onward referral to appropriate services in a timely manner.
Support maternity services in the assessment and identification of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, to include mentoring where appropriate.
Act as a specialist physiotherapist resource for physiotherapists and APP's within Dorset and buddy other regions as required.

Clinical Excellence: Engage in high-quality patient care, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a pelvic health caseload.
2. Education and Training: Collaborate on leading the pelvic health therapy team, including the mentorship and guidance of junior staff. Actively participate in the education and development of the team.
3. Research and Innovation: Contribute to ongoing research and service development, and stay updated with the latest advancements in pelvic health therapy and care. Implement evidence-based practices to optimise patient outcomes.
As and Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Pelvic Health and will be responsible for the clinical governance of the perinatal pelvic health physiotherapy across all University Hospital Dorset sites and across all 4 pillars of advanced practice.
