The hourly rate for this role is £13.12. Joining us as a Boots Healthcare Logistics Driver (HLD) is a great opportunity. You'll deliver first-class care to those in the community who might otherwise never visit a Boots store. This role prioritises the patient behind the parcel and offers more than other delivery roles.
About the role
You will report into the Healthcare Logistics Manager and provide outstanding customer care by delivering and collecting medicines from Care Homes, patients at home, GP surgeries and other Boots stores within an allocated route time. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while following safety protocols. Boots will provide a maintained vehicle and all necessary training, including a handheld device for pre-planned routing and satellite navigation., Build great relationships with store teams, care homes and GP surgeries.
Follow standards, operating policies and health and safety procedures.
Drive safely and legally.
Keep your vehicle maintained and clean, reporting any damage or issues.
Provide relevant customer feedback and suggestions for operational improvement.
Act as a proud ambassador for Boots Healthcare Logistics.
Minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
Ability to read and interpret delivery routes and instructions.
Enjoy following process and working at pace to achieve service levels and targets.
Physical stamina and capability to work in a manually demanding role with heavy lifting.
Comfortable using new technology.
Calm in the face of unexpected changes or challenges.
Comfortable in new situations and meeting new people.
Genuine desire to help people and provide legendary care.
Full, valid UK driver's licence.
Must be over 18 years of age.
Desirable skills (not essential)
Basic numeracy skills.
Experience in a driving role.
Experience in a customer-facing role.
Working hours & shift pattern
Basic hours will be 9 hours per week, Monday to Saturday. You will cover three evening shifts with normal start and finish times of 5pm to 8:30pm. You will be on-call for a further two shifts per week, at a minimum, to cover extra deliveries as needed.
