PCB Assembly Technician
Location: Clevedon, North Somerset
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 38.5 hours per week across 4.5 days

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated PCB Assembly Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Clevedon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with PCB assembly and soldering experience who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

Reporting directly to the Stores Manager, you will work collaboratively with teams across the business to support the assembly, inspection, and stock control of printed circuit boards (PCBs). You will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards while contributing to production efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will be an easy-going, reliable individual who can work independently as well as part of a team, follow instructions accurately, and meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble PCBs in accordance with company standards and specifications

  • Carry out through-hole and surface mount soldering activities

  • Perform accurate component placement and assembly

  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure right-first-time quality

  • Diagnose and rectify assembly faults where required

  • Monitor component stock levels and identify shortages

  • Raise stock requisitions to maintain production requirements

  • Support production scheduling and stock control activities

  • Maintain accurate production and inventory records

  • Adhere to ESD procedures and company quality standards

  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe

  • Support continuous improvement and Lean 5S initiatives

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous PCB assembly and soldering experience

  • Experience working within a manufacturing or electronics production environment

  • Good understanding of electronic components and PCB layouts

  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards

  • Ability to follow technical instructions and engineering drawings

  • Good manual dexterity and precision working skills

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive approach
 

Desirable

  • Relevant technical qualification or training

  • IPC certification (such as IPC-A-610)

  • Experience within electronics manufacturing

  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings

  • Knowledge of Lean 5S principles
