Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach for providing long-term support to people with learning disabilities and autism, including those with mental health conditions, who display, or may be at risk of developing, behaviours of concern. The PBS Assistant Practitioner works in partnership with PBS Practitioners and PBS Specialists to support with the development of Behaviour Support Plans (BSP's) and Functional Assessments; this will include working with individuals, their families, carers and other professionals and organisations. • Have a NVQ4 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care or relevant experience
• Have working knowledge of the legislative and Positive Behaviour Support frameworks, theory, and practice; including the PBS competencies outlined by the PBS academy
• Be highly organised with a solution focused, logical and innovative approach to challenges
• Be able to prioritise, using a risk-based approach
