Full Job Description
We are currently looking for someone to join our Payroll Bureau as a Payroll Officer. The successful candidate will be joining a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides independent living services to people with disabilities and health care needs nationwide., The Role - As a Payroll Officer, your main duties will include:
- Providing an efficient computerised Payroll Service using specialist software
- Monitoring and updating all records relating to PAYE including submissions using Real Time Information (RTI)
- Regular liaison with HMRC, Inland Revenue and all other related governing bodies
- Providing information and advice to service users in relation to PAYE, SMP, SPP and SSP when needed
- Setting up new employees on the payroll service
- Collating and conveying customer information relating to Tax and National Insurance Liability in line with statutory requirements
- Ensuring data is stored securely in line with data protection
Previous experience of working in a payroll and/or finance department - Ability to input and maintain accurate data records
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Ability to work flexibly and to deadlines
- Minimum GCSE Grade '4' or equivalent in English and Maths
- A qualification in bookkeeping, credit control entry level CIPP would be desirable
