This is an exciting newly created role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to make a real impact while helping to shape and develop our payroll processes. We're looking for a part-time Payroll Assistant to join our team on a permanent annualised hours contract, providing the security of permanent employment alongside the flexibility to balance work and life commitments.
The position is based on an average of 10 hours per week, typically worked across 2 days, with flexibility around how those hours are scheduled. This makes it an ideal opportunity for someone looking for meaningful, long-term work with a supportive employer that understands the importance of work-life balance.
As Payroll Assistant, you'll play a key role at the heart of our hotel, supporting the payroll function. You'll take ownership of payroll administration, ensuring our team members are paid accurately, confidentially and on time, while becoming a trusted point of contact for payroll related queries.
Reporting and workforce analytics will form an important part of the role. You'll produce payroll and workforce reports, monitor labour costs, annual leave balances and banked hours, and provide meaningful insights that support operational decision-making across the hotel.
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience in payroll administration or payroll processing.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and managers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive employee information.
- Good understanding of GDPR requirements and the importance of confidentiality.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- A flexible approach to working hours to accommodate payroll deadlines and business requirements.
- Positive, proactive and professional approach to supporting managers and employees.
It would be great if you also have:
- Previous HR administration experience.
- Experience using HR, payroll or workforce management systems (Fourth experience would be advantageous).
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
- Experience within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Experience supporting pensions, employee benefits and wellbeing initiatives.
Please note that all successful applicants will be required to provide two relevant references, preferably work-related. Due to the trust-based nature of this position, a Basic Disclosure Check will also be required as part of our onboarding process.
Interviews will take place from mid to late August, with shortlisted candidates contacted directly.
Most importantly, to be successful in this role, you will be passionate about supporting people, delivering an outstanding employee experience, and living our brand values every day.
At Aimbridge, we recognise that people are the heart of our business. As a global leader, we are committed to representing our diverse community and offering everyone 'A Place to Grow'.
