Payroll Apprentice

An exciting opportunity has risen in the payroll department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust to join our friendly payroll team. As an apprentice, we are offering a role that will combine valuable NHS experience and knowledge, with working towards the payroll level 3 qualification. This Trust supported programme will run over an 18-month contracted period. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week. Full training will be given on payroll systems, and you will be supported by a dedicated payroll mentor throughout your apprenticeship. We are a large payroll dept, providing payroll services to over 20 Trusts in the UK. We have circa 90 staff and offer training to candidates who do not have payroll experience.,

• To support the provision of an accurate and timely payroll service for our clients
• To be responsible for a section of weekly and monthly payroll with supervision
• To process in accordance with statutory and NHS national terms and conditions of employment.
• To fulfil the requirements of the Payroll Administrator Level 3 alongside day-to-day payroll responsibilities
  
  It is vital that you are reliable, self-motivated, organised and have excellent communication, numerical and literate skills. The ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your workload is also key to this role.

  This is a fixed term contract role for 18 months and will be paid in accordance with the current Apprenticeship rates:
The Trust shall pay to the Apprentice an allowance at the rate of 15,642.00 per annum (net of tax)
• , for the first 12 months of the apprenticeship. Payment thereafter will be at 24,852.00 per annum or in accordance with age as determined by the National Minimum Wage Regulations.
