Pastoral Support Worker

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils throughout their educational journey. You'll provide both pastoral and classroom support, helping create positive learning experiences while promoting wellbeing, independence, and personal development. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning, manage challenges positively, and celebrate their successes every step of the way. What you will be doing

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis to access learning and achieve their goals.
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and communication needs.
• Contributing to individual support plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Helping create a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment.
• Supporting morning routines, personal care, and daily transitions where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with education, care and therapeutic teams.Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Maintaining accurate records and safeguarding pupils at all times.
  
  Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Colleges desirable
• Level2 SEN qualification/ working towards desirable
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, autism, or challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Good organisation and record-keeping skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Empathetic, calm and adaptable approach.
• Driving licence is desirable
