Pastoral Support Manager

Required for September 2026

36 hours per week

Term Time plus two weeks

Point 20 - 24 (£33,180 - £35,620 actual salary)

We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager to lead the administration of the pastoral team.

This is a new role and as the pastoral support manager you will work closely with other members of the pastoral team to ensure that the pastoral operational needs of the school are met.

You will lead a team of staff ensuring that they carry out their day-to-day pastoral duties effectively, including monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour and mentoring support.

You will triage day-to-day issues, ensuring that Heads of Learning (HOL) and senior leaders are informed as necessary and that you act on their advice or their decisions.

You will need to ensure that the pastoral team produce accurate records and be prepared to work with all staff, students and parents and where necessary with external agencies to ensure that students receive first class pastoral support.

A key part of this role will be ensuring that pastoral data is accurate, well maintained and actively used to inform leaders. You will be expected to work proficiently within Arbor (MIS), producing regular attendance, behaviour and pastoral reports for Heads of Learning and senior leaders on a daily, weekly and termly basis.

This is a demanding role and is not for the faint hearted. You will need to have a "can do" attitude and be resilient, a quick learner, have high levels of emotional intelligence and be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance in this role.

We are fortunate in already having a very strong team in place with outstanding colleagues and inspirational leaders, working within excellent facilities.

Our pastoral systems are seen as a strength of the school and play a vital role in supporting teachers so that the students reach their potential, both academically and pastorally. We are therefore seeking to recruit a colleague who puts young people first, is caring and supportive.

Langdon Academy is a large 4-16 school, with over 1700 students in the secondary phase, and is part of Brampton Manor Trust, along with Brampton Manor Academy, who have an enviable reputation both locally and nationally.

This appointment provides an opportunity to strengthen our pastoral team further with a new, talented and enthusiastic Pastoral Support Manager. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

The scale of Langdon, the fact that it also has a primary phase, and its membership of Brampton Manor Trust provide considerable opportunity for the continuing development of our staff.

All completed application forms must be sent via the TES portal, or emailed directly to the school by the closing date below. The email address is on the application form.

Please note that CVs will not be accepted without a fully completed application form.

Whilst AI may be used to support answering questions about yourself on the application form, all written statements must be your own work.

Closing date: Monday 22nd June 2026 at 9.00 am.

Please note: Interviews will take place on a rolling basis, as applications are received
