Our client is a full-service UK law firm with a long-established and highly regarded commercial and specialty insurance practice, acting for a recognised roster of insurers, MGAs, brokers and corporate policyholders across the London market and the wider UK. The practice is genuinely insurance-led rather than a general disputes offering with an insurance label attached, and is well resourced beneath partner level. Following sustained growth, they are looking to appoint a Partner within their specialty lines P&C offering.

The firm is interested in partners with practices spanning any combination of property, casualty, construction, marine, energy, political risk and other specialty classes - advising London market and international insurers on coverage, policy wording, complex claims and the disputes that arise from them, including large-loss and multi-jurisdictional matters. Breadth across classes is welcomed; a genuinely deep single-class niche is equally so, provided it is portable and provided there is appetite to build around it.

We are keen to speak with partners with an established, portable practice of approximately £500,000 to £750,000, currently operating at Partner or Legal Director level in a firm with a recognised specialty insurance offering. The client relationships, market profile and commercial appetite to grow the practice matter more here than an exact match on class of business.

What is on offer is a strong existing client base to build against rather than compete with, a full-service firm behind you, and a rate structure and remuneration model that rewards the partners who build rather than those who have already finished building.
