Full Job Description
Are you an experienced nanny who enjoys caring for school age children?
A fabulous role has become available working with a warm and welcoming family of four in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Although the parents occasionally work from home, this will be a sole charge role.
They are seeking an experienced and active nanny to join their family and provide excellent care for their children; a boy aged seven and his little sister aged five. The children are active and like going to the park and playing in the garden, as well as indoor fun such as reading stories, Lego, drawing, crafts and baking. As well as engaging with the children in their hobbies and interests, working with the children to help with homework, encouraging good manners and behaviour will also be part of the role.
During term time (34 weeks) you will work Monday-Thursday, 07.00-09.00 returning at 14.30-19.00 and Friday, 07.00-09.00, returning at 15.30-17.30 (30 hours/week).
In the school holidays (18 weeks), the hours will change to longer days, when you will work on Wednesday and Thursday, 07.00-19.00 and Friday, 09.00-15.00 (30 hours/week).
Your salary will be split evenly across the year.
In the mornings you'll give the children breakfast and help get them dressed and ready, before driving them to school.
Before collecting the children from school at the end of the day, you will have time at the house to prepare a nutritious meal for them to have for their tea, and to help with tasks such as the children's laundry, keeping their bedrooms and playroom organised and tidy, ensuring they have everything they need for the next day (uniform and bags prepared, etc). Although there is a weekly cleaner, any help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated (keeping the kitchen tidy, emptying the dishwasher, running the occasional errand, etc).
Once home, you'll give the children tea, help with any homework and engage with them with reading or other fun activities. You'll also help them with bathtime and getting ready for bed before their parents come home to take over.
In the school holidays, the parents would like you to care for the children at home, engaging them with fun and educational activities, or taking them on local day trips, meeting up with their friends to help them to socialise, always keeping them happy and safe.
At the end of the day, you will leave all used rooms tidy, ready for the parents to take over.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a clean driving licence. There is a fully insured car to use while on duty, however use of your own car is preferred and duty mileage would be paid.
If you have a genuine love for working with children, an understanding of their individual needs and the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
