Are you passionate about maintaining order and ensuring the smooth operation of parking services within a dynamic local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Parking Officer to join our Transport and Countryside Service, reporting to the Senior Parking Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective management of parking enforcement and advisory services in a diverse and supportive working environment. The Role As a Parking Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality parking services to the West Berkshire community. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing parking penalty charge notices and handling representations and appeals.
- Conducting regular site visits and inspections to enforce parking regulations.
- Providing advice and guidance to residents, businesses, and the public regarding parking issues.
- Collaborating with external contractors to ensure efficient operation of parking enforcement.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of parking policies and initiatives. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and providing statistical information as required., This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies. - Experience in parking enforcement or a similar regulatory role.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing parking.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
