We are presently looking for knowledgeable, motivated and engaged paralegals from across the UK to join our innovative LDC. The Role In this role you will be placed within our Corporate Lending and Real Estate Finance team, which is made up of lawyers across our London, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, and acts for lenders and borrowers on a wide range of lending transactions, many of an international nature. You will be joining an existing team of five paralegals dedicated to supporting this team, who are all actively involved in supporting the delivery of transactions. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team that is integral to the firm's strategy, whilst benefiting from being able to work flexibly., You will work as part of a team to deliver paralegal support to our Corporate Lending and Real Estate Finance Banking team. You will have a particular focus on assisting with regular work on financings for a key real estate finance borrower client, which is primarily led by our team in Scotland. You will also support the team with more general tasks, including:
- Using precedents to draft basic documentation.
- Managing and keeping organised draft documentation.
- Assisting with the co-ordination of and preparation for the closing of transactions.
- Assisting with any post completion registrations or other steps that may be needed.
- Responsiblility for producing transaction bibles, company searches, CP checklists and distributing original documents at the end of transactions.
- Liaising with clients and counterparties in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
- Drafting emails and correspondence on behalf of fee earners.
- Undertaking legal research.
- Providing administrative support to fee earners.
- Filing and maintaining correspondence and documentation.
A qualification in law, minimum 2.1 (Degree, Graduate Diploma in Law). - LPC or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
- Previous Banking paralegal experience.
- Demonstrable interest in Corporate Lending and Real Estate Finance.
- Proficient in using Microsoft office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work well in urgent situations and to very tight deadlines (essential).
- Ability to organise, prioritise and manage several tasks at once.
- Ability to work accurately with precise attention to detail.
- Demonstrate motivation and initiative.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to deal effectively with Partners and professionals across the firm.
- Sociable and collaborative with others.
