This is a developmental specialist nursing role within Ashgate Hospices Community Specialist Palliative Care Team. You will be supported to develop your clinical expertise in specialist palliative care through structured professional development, clinical supervision, reflective practice and participation in the teams competency framework. Development opportunities include: Advanced Pain and Symptom Management training. Advanced Communication Skills Training. Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills. Non-Medical Prescribing. Development of leadership, education, audit and quality improvement skills. Opportunities to contribute to service development, evaluation and research activity. There is a clear development pathway within the role. Following successful completion of the development portfolio and demonstration of the required experience, knowledge and specialist competencies, there is an opportunity to progress to Palliative Care Specialist Nurse.
