  • RSCN/ RN child branch (NMC registered) or equivalent
  • Current NMC registration

    Apollo 35 ward, our adolescents unit which has been specifically designed for young people aged 11 - 16 with a variety of medical, mental health, oncological and surgical conditions. On this ward we have 14 beds as well as activity & breakout rooms for teenagers.
  • Apollo 35 is one of only a very few adolescent wards in the UK. Working on Apollo you get exposed to a multitude of specialities, you will develop skills in surgical and orthopaedic nursing care, the care of the oncology patient & gain skills to administer chemotherapy, you will be supported to care for young people who need hospital care due to their mental ill health and an exposure to all the medical specialities. Our patients are a mix between long term and short term patients, some we get to know over many years and support them in their transition to adult services. Nonni, the ward sister says, "working with young people in a bespoke, purpose built adolescent ward is a different type of nursing and one that is unbelievably rewarding. We are a fun supportive team who celebrate the specific nursing care that we give to young people in hospital."
