Full Job Description

  • This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity. You will provide a high standard of Occupational service working as an autonomous practitioner delivering specialist assessment and therapeutic management of children across Northern Lincolnshire (based in Scunthorpe). To take responsibility for a caseload of children 0-19 years including those with equipment needs and within a variety of settings.
  • Supervise, educate and support non registered staff and provide specialised advice to other health/education and social care professionals in the specific clinical area.
  • Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects and service developments to further own and teams clinical practice. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to development of service protocols.
  • To develop skills and knowledge through participation in any development programmes and competency framework
  • Main duties of the job Independent management of a caseload of CYP aged 0-19 years providing assessment, intervention and support as an autonomous practitioner complete assessment and provision of equipment and undertake assessments as part of DFG process in accordance with guidance and best practice Work with the team and Lead for Children's Occupational Therapy to support elements of service development and improvement Contribute to statutory assessments (EHCP) S Support education and training of others in delivery of OT recommendations (Parents/carer's, setting staff and other professionals).
