Full Job Description
- This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity and an opportunity to develop or extend your competencies in working with children and young people (0-19 years). You will provide a high standard of Occupational service working as an autonomous practitioner delivering specialist assessment and therapeutic management of children across Northern Lincolnshire (Grimsby and Scunthorpe). To take responsibility for a caseload of children 0-19 years including those with equipment needs and within a variety of settings.

- To develop skills and knowledge through participation in any development programmes and competency framework Main duties of the job CLINICAL 1. Undertake comprehensive assessment of patients (0-19 years) including those with diverse or complex presentations or multiple pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and a range of assessment techniques including manual assessment to provide an accurate diagnosis. 2. Work within the agreed 'core offer' of service delivery and ensure that there is a focus on achieving agreed outcomes and working towards discharge right from the start of involvement. 3. To deal with emotive and stressful situations in a calm and sensitive way, using effective communication skills to establish rapport and maintain a partnership approach with children, young people and their families. 4. To demonstrate and apply a broad level of understanding of the effect of disability and recommend environmental adaptations, specialist equipment and strategies to assist. 5. Evaluate progress, reassess and alter intervention programmes as required. 6. To write reports for a range of purposes and audiences as required e.g. child protection, Education Health and Care Plan, Single Assessment. 7. Represent the Children's Therapy/ Occupational Therapy Service and/or individual patients at MDT meetings t 8. To liaise effectively with all those involved in the child or young person's care and delivery of their individual plan.
