Full Job Description
Fixed Term: 12 months | 26.25 hrs per week to cover maternity leave | Internal, Reporting into the senior team members and the Dietetic Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage a caseload of inpatients, outpatients, and telephone consultations, providing dietetic advice and developing personalised care plans.
- Assess nutritional needs, prescribe treatment, and collaborate with MDTs to adjust care plans.
- Maintain accurate records, support safe patient discharge, and collaborate with relevant agencies and catering services.
- Deliver high-quality education to healthcare professionals, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet diverse learning needs, including communication and psychological challenges.
- Participate in clinical audits, review new research, and contribute to the development of evidence-based dietetic procedures.
- Communicate complex or sensitive information, using counselling skills to build rapport and adapt methods to ensure understanding across diverse needs.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate dietitian to join our team, giving an opportunity gain experience in paediatrics within a nationally renowned children's hospital. Previous experience in paediatric dietetics is essential however support and training will be provided. You'll join our team, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Your work will be based on evidence and best practice guidelines, and you'll develop your skills in this rewarding and dynamic field. You'll also participate in the Sheffield dietetic student training programme, supporting student dietitians on placements.
