Full Job Description
The post holder will provide ward-based education and training to support Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing Associates and Healthcare Support Workers across the Paediatric unit, including Paediatric High Dependency . The post holder will collaborate with the Paediatric Practice Education team to identify individual staff training needs, and the development of role specific competencies. The post holder will be responsible for developing and evaluating best practice within the ward areas alongside the Practice Education Team and Ward/Department Managers. The post-holder will work alongside the Practice Educators and Ward Managers to develop targeted clinical training programs and competencies to support learners of varying registration, qualifications, and clinical experience. This will include working closely with multidisciplinary teams to plan, facilitate and enable access to learning opportunities.,
- Ensure that all Trust wide standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of total care to all who encounter the Children's Services.
- Comply with health and safety legislation, promoting high standards and acting immediately in response to hazards or unsafe practices in conjunction with other staff.
- Participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote a commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
- Take on agreed duties in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.
- Cover the work of colleagues during periods of absence or peak workloads.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post as designated by the Group Director of Nursing / Modern Matron / Band 7 Practice Educator
