I am looking for a trustworthy, patient, and confident Personal Assistant to support a cheerful and independent gentleman living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and epilepsy.


Although non-verbal, he communicates effectively by typing on his phone and enjoys social interaction with people who take the time to understand him.


He is a passionate Manchester United supporter, enjoys watching sport, particularly snooker and darts, and loves listening to his music loud.


The role involves supporting daily living tasks while encouraging independence and helping to maintain positive routines. A kind nature, good sense of humour, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to recognise when extra support is needed are essential.


Working collaboratively, you will help him remain independent, safe, and engaged in the activities he enjoys most.




Duties include:



  • Medication prompting/administering

  • Personal grooming

  • Eating and drinking assistance

  • Other relevant duties as required

  • Administration

  • Housekeeping

  • Shopping

  • Cooking

  • Transportation

  • Companionship

  • Dressing / undressing

  • Bathroom assistance


Candidate qualities:



  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

  • Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the workplace

  • Reliable with good timekeeping

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised

  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

  • Honest and cheerful

  • Creative

  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Happy to work in a smoking environment
