Full Job Description
We are now recruiting for an experienced Personal Assistant to provide high-quality support to the Senior Leadership Team and the Leader of the Council on an 18-month fixed-term contract on a full-time basis. This is an important role that will help support the organisation during the lead-up to Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).
As part of our Executive Support Team, you will deliver a professional, responsive and confidential personal assistant service tailored to the needs of senior leaders. This role requires excellent organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be adaptable, discreet and capable of managing sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, tact and integrity.
What you'll be doing
In this varied and fast-paced role, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing complex diaries, meetings and correspondence for SLT and the Leader
Preparing agendas, taking minutes and monitoring follow-up actions
Handling enquiries, screening calls and responding appropriately on behalf of senior officers
Liaising with elected Members, senior stakeholders and partner organisations
Maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR
Preparing presentations and briefing notes
Supporting presentations, research, travel arrangements and event bookings
Providing flexible support across the Executive Support Team, including deputising when needed
Experience of working as a Personal Assistant to a senior manager or director in a similar organisation or environment
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Accurate and comprehensive minute-taking skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital systems
A friendly, proactive, flexible and responsive approach
The confidence to deal with people at all levels with tact, diplomacy and discretion
