Summary


We are looking for a kind, understanding and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to provide 4 hours of support per week to an individual in their own home and when attending appointments.


The individual has OCD and ADHD, as well as chronic fatigue, chronic pain and a sleep disorder. Their energy, mobility and support needs can vary from day to day, so we are looking for someone who is flexible, patient and able to adapt their approach according to their needs.


Afternoons are generally preferred; however, the timing of support may need to vary depending on the individual's sleep schedule, energy levels and appointments. The successful applicant will therefore need to be able to offer some flexibility.


Essential Requirements



  • Female PA.

  • Previous experience supporting someone with their mental health or experience within a mental health setting.

  • Full driving licence.

  • Own vehicle and willingness to use it to transport the individual.

  • Flexibility with working times.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Respectful, patient and person-centred approach.


We are looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable and trustworthy.

  • Understanding of mental health and neurodiversity.

  • Comfortable supporting someone with OCD and ADHD.

  • Flexible and able to respond to changing needs.

  • A good communicator who listens and respects individual preferences.

  • Comfortable working in someone's home.

  • Respectful of personal boundaries and confidentiality.

  • Able to encourage independence rather than taking over.

  • A confident driver who is happy to use their own vehicle.

  • Accepting, inclusive and comfortable supporting LGBTQ+ / queer people.


The individual is currently supported by a mental health professional and an occupational therapist, and the PA will work alongside this existing support network where appropriate. Understanding and acceptance of LGBTQ+ / queer people.


Willingness to provide references.


Current DBS check, or willingness to complete a DBS check.
