Full Job Description

  • Prepare management accounts for outsourcing clients.
  • Oversee clients' accounting activities and ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and supporting working papers.
  • Calculate and post month-end adjustments and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, applying relevant technical knowledge and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Deliver ad hoc project work including cloud accounting software conversions, bespoke reporting setup, and accounting catch-up exercises.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Review accounts preparation work completed by junior team members.
  • Coach and support junior staff, ensuring they receive clear instructions, appropriate training, and feedback on completed work.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, relationship managers, and partners.
  • Stay up to date with technical developments and make effective use of cloud accounting tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, Caseware and Dext to deliver efficient, high-quality service.

    Working towards or qualified in a relevant qualification - AAT,ACA,ACCA, CIMA and with previous bookkeeping experience
  • Ability to apply technical accounting knowledge to real life client situations
  • Previous experience using accounting software packages, namely Caseware, Xero and QuickBooks
  • Strong Excel skills are essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Takes ownership of tasks, where applicable
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with client, as will often be main point of day-to-day contact
  • Understands and takes an interest in their client's business goals and sector
  • Supports and develops junior staff by sharing technical and practical experience
