Full Job Description

As a band 5 you will be expected to work within all areas of the department assisting and managing staff as appropriate.
You will supervise outpatient clinics as well as participate in the assessment and diagnosis of patients in some disciplines.
Within the theatres duties will include pre assessment of surgical patients, management of the ward and discharge of patients and full duties within the theatre suite including head end circulation nurse and scrub nurse (training provided as necessary).
John Coupland Hospital is a small community hospital based in Gainsborough a small town north of Lincoln.
We are a small well motivated and focused team ranging from HCSW band 2 to Clinical Team Lead band 7. We all participate in all aspects of the job and work across all areas.
Staff are well skilled and much of the training that is required is delivered within the area by members of the team.You will also be expected to be able to or train to take blood and give IV medication.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gainsborough Outpatient and Day Theatre team for an enthusiastic, highly motivated experienced individuals with excellent communication skills to join our professional friendly team as a Band 5 staff nurse who will work across all areas of our service.
Our Outpatients and Surgical Day services department currently facilitates over 20 multi-specialty clinics, including Phlebotomy, Surgery, Medicine, Urology, Vascular, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology and orthopaedics. The Outpatients Department provides both Consultant led and nurse led clinics while the day theatres offers minor surgical and diagnostic procedures under local anaesthetic.
We have a well-equipped outpatient department consisting of several consultation rooms and an Operating Theatre, consisting on a theatre suite with a 5 bedded day unit and pre assessment room.
Currently, clinics are held Monday to Saturday, but the services have potential to expand to be running Sundays and Bank Holidays in the future. Therefore, the successful candidate must be prepared to work Weekends and Bank Holidays as required by the service and be able to work hours flexibly to meet needs of the service.
