Full Job Description
To provide day to day management for Endodontic and Periodontic services at Acton Health Centre, supporting the Assistant Service Manager and Service Manager in delivering the Trust's key performance targets. Responsible for closely validating the respective waiting lists to ensure that patient are seen within the national targets for 18 weeks RTT and cancer and that all clinics are fully utilized and closely managing the administration team and the respective waiting lists to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner. Provide an efficient and polite service to patients when booking outpatient appointments, and work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of the patients and their families. To support patients, General Practitioners, purchasers and consultants., Manage and coordinate clinic bookings to ensure all available appointment slots are utilised effectively and clinic capacity is maximised.Maintain and actively manage patient waiting lists, monitoring demand and escalating capacity or performance concerns as appropriate.Ensure patients, including those on cancer pathways, are scheduled within national and local target timescales to support timely access to care.Liaise closely with relevant Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs), clinicians, and support services to coordinate patient pathways, resolve scheduling issues, and ensure seamless delivery of care.Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, clinical teams, managers, and external stakeholders.Respond to patient queries in a timely and courteous manner, providing accurate information and directing enquiries to the appropriate service or individual when required.Produce and analyse monthly performance reports, including clinical capacity, referral activity, waiting list performance, and other key service metrics to support operational planning and decision-making.Monitor service performance against key targets and support the implementation of actions to improve patient access and operational efficiency.Support the delivery of service objectives through accurate data management, performance monitoring, and proactive administrative coordination., To view the main responsibility, please see the attached the Job Description and Person Specification.
- Coordinate and manage outpatient appointments in line with Trust policies and national waiting time standards
- Demonstrate excellent administrative skills with experience using patient administration systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with patients, clinicians, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams., Previous experience with SOEL
- Previous experience with NHS Mail
- Previous dental practice experience, Ability to prioritise workload, work independently, and manage competing demands within a busy outpatient environment.
- Provide a professional and compassionate service when dealing with patient enquiries, concerns, and complex scheduling issues., English and Maths GCSE
