Full Job Description

The OUT Spoken Navigator supports men who have experienced trauma, including sexual harm, within prisons across the North West, helping them access the support they need to improve their wellbeing and move forward in their recovery. The role involves conducting assessments, providing trauma-informed brief interventions and advocacy, and helping men navigate available support. Working closely with prison staff, healthcare professionals and other services, the Navigator helps ensure men receive joined-up support, particularly those who may have experienced complex trauma or struggled to engage with services in the past. It's a rewarding opportunity to build trusting relationships, give men a voice within the criminal justice system and make a meaningful difference to their lives, ensuring no male survivor is left behind.,

  • Facilitate the design, development and delivery of individually tailored care plans and pathways for clients in the service.
  • Undertake individual risk and needs assessments for victim/survivors entering the pathway.
  • Deliver 1:1 trauma-informed/survivor-centred therapeutic interventions.
  • Work within a multi-agency partnership to liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies in the care provided to clients.
  • Accurately record clinical interventions and maintain a high standard of record keeping.
  • Engage in monthly clinical supervision and regular Line Management as directed.
  • Provide accurate client reports to stakeholders that represent the clients needs and wishes.
  • Participation in the development and implementation of continuous service and system improvement.
  • Maintain appropriate professional registration (if applicable) and demonstrate commitment to statutory codes of practice and continued professional development requirements.
  • Undertake specific tasks as directed by a Manager or a member of the Executive Team.
  • Maintain professional registration, membership and undertake compliance as required, including CPD, etc.

We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support.
  • Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model. Our vision is to have A society where NO male survivor is left behind
