Full Job Description
As an OTA, you will work under the supervision of qualified Occupational Therapists to:
- Carry out strengths-based OT assessments
- Complete reviews for residents receiving OT equipment or domiciliary care
- Support the assessment and provision of specialist equipment and environmental adaptations
- Deliver functional retraining, advice and interventions that promote safety and independence
- Identify risks and contribute to safeguarding processes
- Accurately record case notes and maintain high-quality documentation
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers and a wide range of professionals You will also support Hackney's growing Reablement Service, including:
- Reablement at Home - supporting residents discharged home with reablement potential
- Reablement Assessment Flats - providing short-term assessment accommodation at Rose Court and Leander Court This role is central to Hackney's ambition to move toward a Reablement First approach, offering short-term, independence-focused support to more residents.
- Experience completing OT or functional assessments
- Strong communication and partnership-working skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
- Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, assistive technology and strength-based practice
- Understanding of equipment, adaptations and the needs of adults with physical or sensory disabilities
