The successful applicant will work closely with the band 6 OT, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Community Mental Health Nurses and admiral Nurses as well as have close links with in-patient units, CERTS (community enablement and recovery team, OPIP (older peoples intervention Programme), and Social Services. The CMHT's also liaise with primary care specifically GP's, and the third sector., The Occupational Therapist will be required to undertake comprehensive OT assessments using a number of standardised tools and models, including MOHO (model of human Occupation). The OT will apply formulation skills in setting appropriate goals and work together with the service user in achieving these goals by application of appropriate interventions.
A core role of his post is inputting into the division wide OPIP service which offers interventions in group and one to one settings for service users with organic and/or mental health needs.
The OT will be directly supervised by the band 6.
The Mental Health Services for Older People division within the Trust values the role of occupational therapy within its teams and promotes regular managerial, professional and clinical supervision. All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust's induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
