Full Job Description
This is a new and exciting opportunity for an unregistered member of staff to join the Ophthalmology Nursing team at CTM.
The post holder will be based across Pan CTM which includes Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital and Princess of Wales Hospital and will be pivotal in supporting the efficient and effective running of Ophthalmology Clinics.
The post holder will principally provide clinical and technical support to the Ophthalmology service carrying out such tasks as vision testing and pharmacological dilation of pupils, RAPD checks, Optical Coherence Tomography, Ophthalmic Biometry, Pentacam and provide general support for the Pre-Assessment Nurse Practitioners.
The post holder will be trained to perform Ophthalmic imaging such as Optical Coherence Tomography, Pentacam and Biometry on completion of work-based competency assessments.
They will provide any associated administrative support required to run the service as requested., The successful candidate will principally provide clinical and technical support to the Ophthalmology service carrying out such tasks as vision testing and pharmacological dilation of pupils.
The post holder will also be trained to perform other methods of Ophthalmic imaging such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Pentacam Imaging and biometry on completion of work-based competency assessments.
They will provide any associated administrative support required to run the service as requested.
The successful candidate will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard and assist in keeping the clinical area clean and clutter free.
The applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative and work flexibly to meet the service needs.
