Ophthalmic Technician

We have an exciting opportunity to join our purpose-built eye health clinic and surgical centre in Teesside as an Ophthalmic Technician., As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care, supporting Consultant Ophthalmologists and Optometrists, undertaking diagnostic testing, and ensuring our clinics run efficiently and effectively. With a comprehensive training and development programme, you will have the opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge, develop new skills, and progress within a growing organisation committed to excellence in eye care.,

• Support Consultant Ophthalmologists and Optometrists in the delivery of outpatient clinics.
• Perform a range of ophthalmic diagnostic tests, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Biometry, Visual Fields and retinal imaging.
• Accurately record patient information and tests results using electronic patient record systems.
• Explain tests and procedures clearly to patients, helping them feel informed and reassured throughout their appointment.
• Ensure clinics run smoothly and efficiently, supporting positive patient outcomes and experiences.
• Undertake routine maintenance, cleaning and basic troubleshooting of diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance, infection prevention, health and safety and patient confidentiality.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and support the delivery of exceptional patient care.
