Full Job Description

As an Operative, you'll be working within the South West Water team, supporting them in working on schemes including mains repairs, new connections, and metering, all within a team that values comradery and collaboration. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, creating a secure and protected work environment. This is an opportunity to be part of a close-knit team where your contribution makes a real difference every day. What will you be responsible for? As an Operative, you'll be working within the Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks - South West Water team, supporting them in working on schemes including mains repairs, new connections, and metering. Your day to day will include:

  • Undertaking planned or reactive work as directed from water services to large diameter mains
  • Ensuring levels of productivity working within timescales and to targets
  • Updating all relevant documentation on each job using a tablet
  • Being part of a rapid response team that works around the clock to deliver and restore clean water
  • Promoting wellbeing and ensuring an inclusive workplace where diversity is actively encouraged

    Previous experience in highways or utilities.
  • Hold a Full driving licence
  • A CSCS card, EUSR Water Hygiene, or NRSWA certification (however training can be provided)
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality results
