We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking manager to lead our waste collection and street cleansing operations.About the RoleAs the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for performance and improvement of high-quality waste collection and street cleansing services. You will lead a large workforce, drive performance improvements, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and professionalism.You will:

• Lead and manage the delivery of waste collection and street cleansing services.
• Monitor and improve service performance using data-driven approaches.
• Ensure compliance with current and emerging legislation.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, elected members, and external stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of safety, communication, and continuous improvement.
  
  A strong understanding of current and future legislation related to waste collection and street cleansing.
• Proven ability to foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and professionalism.
• Skilled in analysing data, monitoring performance, and implementing corrective actions.
• Comfortable working in complex, political environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of an organisation.
• Proficient in IT with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Significant experience in a management or senior management role within waste collection or street cleansing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large operational teams effectively.
• Experience using data and evidence to drive service improvements.
• A clear understanding of and commitment to the Council's equal opportunities policies and staff values.
• Full Category B (car) driving licence.
