What's the role? The Civils Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role provides strong leadership across multiple sites, manages project teams and subcontractors, and acts as a key link between commercial, planning, and site delivery functions., + Working as part of the Senior Management Team to ensure a best-in-class services are provided to our clients + Managing pre-start meetings/project reviews and sign offs + Site visits to check quality of work and health and safety + Supervising and training team members + Managing the day-to-day requirements and requests of our clients. + Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations + Managing the commercial administration of the construction team using his/her commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise. Dealing with valuations, disputes and final accounts. + Encouraging and inspiring operations teams to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost-effective way. + Ensuring the delivery process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate. + Helping the business to develop robust delivery procedures + Support the Construction teams by helping to manage the planning and delivery of large construction activities + Ensuring development and review of project plans takes place in order to ensure a structured delivery + Assist the business in winning new work + Manage relationships with key subcontractors, McGowan Infrastructure is strategically headquartered in Aviemore, within the Cairngorms National Park.     + Good forward planning and excellent motivation skills as you will have to manage teams with diverse skill sets and different goals, enabling them to work together to produce a coordinated and coherent deliverable. + Works well under pressure + Good people skills, the ability to present ideas effectively and to be able to evaluate the ideas of others whilst in meetings. + An in-depth knowledge of all aspects of a construction project and be an efficient document manager. + Understanding of the NEC contract administration + Proven Leadership
