Full Job Description
· Assumes overall accountability for all Hub operations. Acts as competent contact for other managers in relation to hub matters and sort activity.
· Leads, develops and controls the central Hub functions for the DHL eCommerce UK business ensuring that all KPI metrics for productivity, service and cost are achieved to ensure a competent, reliable and proficient hub network that supports ongoing business requirements.
· Ensures a can-do approach to volume facilitation through positive engagement with the commercial team. Takes balanced decisions on sort allocation for new and base volumes.
· Works closely with the Head of Sort and Head of Fleet and Linehaul to determine the best fit sort path for volume through our central Hub network to achieve the best overall cost solutions for the business and best service capability for our customers.
· Recruits, manages and motivates all Hub Management teams to ensure consistent controls throughout all Hub operations and takes decisions following DHL eCommerce UK protocols and standards. Is accountable for the effective performance of Hub operations to achieve defined business objectives.
· Informs and advises network operations management on local sort activity with a view to maximising our overall company sort capability
· Builds an effective and high performing management team to exercise appropriate controls of all Hub operational activity
· Turns business area strategy into commercial reality by developing, communicating, and implementing operational plans and measures as well as budgets to achieve defined results within Hub operations remits
· Challenge's hub management to plan and establish effective and cost-efficient Hub processing solutions in line with DHL eCommerce UK standards and aligned with
business requirements; monitors ongoing operations and ensures service quality is consistently achieved
· Identifies areas requiring service and cost improvement, initiates and monitors appropriate actions and strategic/tactical plans to produce improvements in Hub performance throughout all UK Hubs. Identifies local sort improvement opportunities by working closely with regional network management
· Develops and owns strategies, tactics and/or policies/standards within area of own responsibility
· Ensures communications between departments/business units is ongoing and utilised to maintain an environment of continuous improvement
· Provides a leadership support function to management teams across all UK Hubs and motivates them to achieve business goals as appropriate.

· Extensive experience/knowledge of the UK logistics, parcel and mail market
· Extensive experience in senior operational leadership roles and reporting to Top Management essential
· Leader and management experience in managing multiple large scale, fast paced, time critical production environments across an expanded territory
