Operations Director - Cost Consultancy

Managing delivery to meet client objectives, ensuring value-driven outcomes, risk management and change control. Providing strategic leadership, guiding teams and stakeholders to achieve agreed milestones. Demonstrating deep sector expertise to drive excellence and sustainable impact aligned with Mace's vision.You'll be responsible for:Conducting feasibility studies, business cases and writing procurement reports.Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project.Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.Ensuring that post contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.Value engineering and life cycle costing.Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.Being a key interface with client and other consultants, at all project stages.Marketing and business development duties, particularly in your sector of experience including being mindful of the need to support the consultancy team in promoting Mace in the region.Line management and recruitment duties.You'll need to have:Proven leadership of high-performing consultancy teams.Track record delivering and winning local government projects.Strong expertise in cost management and contracts.Degree or professional membership preferred, not essential.Our valuesSafety first - Going home safe and well: We champion a safe, diverse and inclusive working environment, understanding the importance of wellbeing in every team.Client focus - Deliver on our promise: We own the quality of deliverables, strategic outcomes and build long term relationships with our clients.Integrity - Always do the right thing: We influence positive outcomes within our industry, while always aligning with our compliance obligations.Create opportunity - For our people to excel: We champion a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities, inspiring our people and teams to develop.Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
