This is a pivotal role within the organisation, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of key processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the management team to uphold high standards of patient care, safety, and overall service delivery., The Operational Support Officer supports the division in achieving corporate objectives by delivering a wide range of operational and administrative functions. They coordinate outpatient clinic delivery, including scheduling, reception, and administrative support, while responding to changes such as cancellations, urgent bookings, and staffing pressures to ensure service continuity. Acting as a point of escalation for operational issues, the post holder provides flexible support across Diagnostic Services, including cross-cover where needed. The role includes supervising administrative, scheduling, and reception staff, managing rotas, supporting recruitment and HR processes.

The post holder contributes to developing and implementing administrative procedures, supports financial processes, and ensures effective communication with clinical teams, patients, and colleagues. They oversee appointment workflows, monitor service performance, and ensure effective handovers. They also support configuration and user management of the Radiology CRIS system, provide technical and training support, and maintain system documentation. Responsibilities include monitoring data quality, analysing performance trends, and supporting improvement initiatives to meet waiting time and booking targets. As a system super user, they deliver training, support staff development, and maintain up-to-date knowledge to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
