Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Operational Service Manager to join Eastbourne Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT). NMHTs bring together local NHS mental health services, GPs and community organisations to offer joined-up, personalised support to patients and their families. The goal is to make sure people get the right help, focused on what matters to them - without needing to repeat their story or navigate different services. We work with adults aged 18 and over who are going through mental health challenges that are affecting their daily life. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical leadership experience and ability in operational community management including service innovation, partnership working, managing change, recruitment, retention and development of a workforce able to deliver the highest quality care. A track-record of service user / carer involvement and evidence of responsiveness to service user and carer feedback is essential. You will need to be a registered mental health professional, and passionate about delivering excellent services.,

  • To work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting, holding self and colleagues to account appropriately and demonstrating personal commitment to integrated (managerial/professional) leadership.
  • Achieve an agreed set of performance targets.
  • Provide services within the agreed financial resources and achieve all financial targets, including cost efficiency savings ensuring maximum value in terms of clinical and cost effectiveness.
  • To contribute in the planning and delivery of service objectives.
  • Respond to Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs), complaints and communications, ensuring timely and thorough investigation, effective communication of recommendations and closely monitoring actions to ensure they are fully implemented
  • To be part of on call manager rota.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation which sets a high priority on the development of services which are responsive to service user and carer's views and to work with dedicated and supportive colleagues. The trust is committed to strong integrated, collaborative leadership between managers and clinicians.
  • Working here offers continued training and development, variety and a rewarding challenge, plus the benefits of living in Sussex, by the sea, in the beautiful South Downs or in any one of the exciting towns and cities we have to offer. We'd love you to join our organisation that is rated 'good' overall and 'outstanding' for caring by the CQC. Our staff agree, with 82% of people in our recent staff survey telling us that they recognise that care for patients is our top priority. Other key staff survey results include:
  • 70% highlighting flexible working opportunities as a key point for satisfaction at work
  • 79% reporting feeling able to make suggestions to improve the work within their team
