Overview
Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys getting behind the numbers and understanding what is really driving performance? Motofix Accident Repair Centres is looking for an experienced Operational Finance Business Partner to work closely with our Repair Centre Managers and operational teams, helping improve margin, productivity and profitability across our multi-site network. This is a hands-on role where you will spend regular time within our repair centres, working alongside operational teams to understand how financial performance is created and where practical improvements can be made.
What you'll do
- Analyse labour sales, productivity, utilisation, efficiency and recovery
- Review parts purchasing, sales and margin
- Monitor paint and materials margin
- Understand WIP, job progression and invoicing
- Review repair volumes, resource, capacity and site overheads
- Investigate margin leakage and productivity losses
- Translate financial and operational data into clear, practical actions
- Develop straightforward MI, KPIs and performance tools
- Support budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance reviews
- Undertake detailed financial analysis and advanced Excel modelling
The key part of the role is being able to follow performance from the P&L back through the operational process and understand what is really driving the result.
What you'll bring
You'll be a qualified, part-qualified or strong qualified-by-experience accountant with experience in management accounting, commercial finance or finance business partnering. You'll have:
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of gross margin and operational profitability
- Experience working directly with operational management
- Advanced Excel, financial analysis and modelling skills
- Confidence interrogating financial and operational data
- The ability to explain complex financial information simply
- A practical, collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge constructively
- Experience within automotive, accident repair, aftersales, parts, service operations or vehicle repair would be highly desirable. We would also welcome candidates from other multi-site operational businesses where margin, productivity and cost control are key.
The person we're looking for
You'll be practical, approachable and naturally curious. You'll enjoy working closely with operational teams, getting into the detail where needed and helping managers turn financial insight into better decisions. Most importantly, you'll be someone who wants to understand why the numbers look the way they do, and what can be changed to improve them. If you enjoy combining strong financial analysis with genuine operational partnership, we'd like to hear from you.
