Full Job Description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent on-site Electrician to come and join our team on our Nuclear Restoration services account in Somerset, Hinkley Point A Site, Bridgwater, TA5 1YA.

Our Nuclear Restoration Services account at Hinkley Point A in Somerset supports the safe, secure and efficient operation of a complex nuclear environment through high-quality facilities and engineering services. As an Electrician, you will play a key role in delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance, helping to keep site operations compliant, reliable and running smoothly within a highly regulated setting.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (shift pattern 7.30am- 5pm Monday to Thursday only)

Previous experience with planned preventative maintenance is preferred but not essential. While a Level 3 qualification is preferred, we are open to interviewing candidates with a Level 2 qualification

What you will do:

Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract

Testing and inspecting electrical installations in line with current IEE wiring regulations

Responding promptly to breakdowns, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently

Performing planned and preventative electrical maintenance and diagnosing/replacing failed domestic electrical components

Actively fault finding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems

Undertaking electrical installation activities according to provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations

Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services, and oversee the BMS System

Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals, and handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager

Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above).

BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition.

Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.

Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing.

Ability to work alone and use initiative.

Capable of working at heights.
