Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

As an Offshore Wind Turbine Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Siemens Energy's offshore wind assets at the Gwynt Y Môr site. Your day will involve travelling offshore to perform planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on wind turbine generators while working within strict health, safety, and environmental standards. Working as part of a highly skilled service team, you will help maximize turbine availability and support the generation of renewable energy across the UK & Ireland region.,

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and corrective maintenance activities on offshore wind turbine generators.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults to minimize turbine downtime and maintain operational performance.
• Replace defective components and carry out repairs in accordance with Siemens Energy technical procedures and quality standards.
• Adhere to all offshore health, safety, and environmental requirements, including GWO standards, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and PPE compliance.
• Support a zero-harm culture by reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents while promoting safe working practices.
• Accurately complete maintenance reports, service documentation, and asset management records to ensure operational transparency and compliance.
• Maintain equipment, specialist tooling, and spare parts inventory records to support efficient site operations.
  
  Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
• Previous experience in wind turbine maintenance, offshore operations, or heavy industrial electrical/mechanical engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities, including electrical control systems, hydraulics, gearboxes, yaw systems, and pitch control systems.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and maintenance software.
• Commitment to safe working practices and compliance with offshore HSE standards.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training, OGUK Offshore Medical Certificate, and Chester Step Test Fitness Certificate.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical reporting skills within remote operational environments.
