Full Job Description
The Temporary Governing Body are seeking to appoint an organised, efficient and welcoming School Clerk to join our administrative team at Ysgol Cambrian. This role is central to ensuring the smooth running of the school office and providing high-quality administrative support to pupils, staff, families and visitors.
The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of administrative and clerical duties, including managing enquiries, maintaining pupil records, supporting attendance processes, handling correspondence, operating the school telephone and reprographic systems, processing orders and invoices, and maintaining accurate financial and administrative records. They will also support with admissions, pupil transfers, medical records, school trips, returns to the Local Authority and Welsh Government, and the coordination of annual review documentation.
We are seeking an individual with strong interpersonal skills, excellent ICT competence and the ability to work calmly and professionally in a busy school environment. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise tasks, use their initiative, maintain confidentiality and respond sensitively to pupils, families and visitors. Experience of working in an office environment is essential, and experience of working in a school office or using SIMS/Vision is desirable.
Experience of working with pupils who have additional learning needs (ALN) is desirable but not essential., PROTECTING CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT RISK IS A CORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SCHOOL AND COUNCIL. IN ADDITION TO THIS SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITY, THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR THE ROLE WILL ALSO BE SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK.
