Full Job Description
At Ipswich Hospital we are seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner for our East Theatres team.
East Theatres offers surgery for adult and paediatric patients undergoing orthopaedic elective and trauma procedures. We comprise of 4 operating theatres, 2 for trauma and 2 for spinal surgery.
If you are keen to develop your skills as a skilled practitioner, work in a progressive and innovative department and would like to help us drive change, we want to hear from you
You will need to be an Anaesthetic Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
Please note, there are two positions available at 37.5 hours per week and 18.75 hours per week.
As a senior theatre practitioner, you will be key member of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high standards of perioperative clinical practice and individualised patient care by demonstrating an advanced standard of clinical skills underpinned by theory. You will manage both elective Orthopaedics and Trauma and act up in the absence of the Clinical Lead, therefore you will have strong leadership skills and act as a role model.
In this role, you will assist the clinical lead in improving service provision within the suite, through auditing, benchmarking and risk management. You will also promote the development of the perioperative role, identifying, implementing and evaluating new ways of working and delivery of patient care and clinically effective guidelines.
This post also involves teaching, coaching and mentoring students, junior and support staff and therefore you will hold a relevant mentorship qualification.
